Arthur (1996-Current)

This television show is kind of pushing it. I know for a fact that children will like this show, but parents might not enjoy this show as much as their children. Arthur is based off of a children's book series written by Marc Brown.

In the show, it is about a boy named Arthur who is a fourth grader. The show is just about the daily occurrences in his circle of friends and family. The show captures the minds and really emphasizes children's imagination. I will put a few real shows on this blog post.

Here are some comments about the show:

In my family, which is just my mom and I, my mom DID enjoy this show and she used to watch it with me. I can only tell you how great a show is, please comment on how you feel about this show. These episodes are the Picky Eater and Buster and the Daredevils. Enjoy!

  1. This post gave me so many feels! This show was the epitome of my childhood! I bet parents like it too. Either that or my parents are really good actors. I honestly haven't watched the show since I was 10! But I still remember some of the songs like the Library card song. I might sing it every time I have to use a library card.

  2. As a sitter and full-time nanny at various times in my life, I have to say Arthur was pretty much a stand-by. At this point, it's one of the few shows that I feel is appropriate for kids all the way from practically infancy on up and doesn't drive me nuts as the adult in the room. It may not apply to everyone in the family, but at least for me, I often like it more than the kids do.

  3. I LOVED ARTHUR!! This show was essentially my lifeline as child. I feel it taught me simple, but valuable lessons. The only thing about the show that I didn't like, and that I still do not particularly enjoy is all the whining that goes on throughout the show. It, like most children shows, do that and it is to me very annoying and teaches the children that whining is a way to persuade someone to do what you want them to. Anyhow, I still allow all eleven of my nieces and nephews that I watch on a regular basis to watch it, so it's not too bad.

    1. I know exactly what you are talking about. My mother did not allow me to watch Caillou because he was whining all the time. Therefore, my mom did not want me to think that was "cool" or something. Most PBS shows are like that, but I think Arthur keeps it under control...most of the time.
